FAQ

Domain questions, straight answers.

What makes a good domain name?

Short, easy to spell aloud, and clearly tied to your brand. Avoid hyphens and numbers, and prefer an established extension like .com when it is available, because visitors type it by default. If the exact name is taken, a clean variant usually beats a clever misspelling.

How long is a domain registration valid?

Domains are registered in one-year increments, and most registries let you pay for up to ten years at a time. The name is yours for the full term as long as it stays renewed. We track every renewal date in your portfolio so a lapse never takes a site offline.

Can I sell a domain I own?

Yes. A domain is a transferable asset: once a sale is agreed, you unlock the domain, hand over its authorization code, and the buyer moves it to their registrar. We can handle the technical side of the transfer so ownership changes hands cleanly.

Can I cancel a domain?

You can stop any domain by turning off renewal and letting it expire at the end of its term. Registration fees are generally non-refundable, and once the post-expiry grace period passes the name returns to the open market — so we always confirm with you before letting one go.

How do I transfer a domain to Qubits?

Unlock the domain at your current registrar, request its authorization (EPP) code, and send it to us — we start the transfer and confirm each step with you. Most transfers complete within five to seven days, and for most extensions the move adds a year to your registration. Your site and email keep working throughout.

Can Qubits set up URL forwarding?

Yes. We configure redirects as part of DNS management — pointing a spare domain at your main site, sending the bare domain to www, or forwarding old paths after a rebrand. Redirects are served over HTTPS with correct status codes so browsers and search engines follow them properly.
